Fort Knox Maine

Fort Knox guards the mouth of the Penobscot river which was a key waterway in early American history. A trip to Fort Knox should include a flashlight as many passageways are very. There is a picnic area available as well as an opportunity to go to the top of the observation area on the recently constructed Penobscot River bridge.
